ISLA PEDRO GONZALEZ is THIRD LARGEST ISLAND IN LAS PERLAS ARCHIPELAGO which has one small fishing village, 737 species of fish and 15 species of coral in the surrounding waters, 150 species of birds, 16 species of mammals, and 20 species of lizards, amphibians, and crocodiles.
Panama is a seasonal breeding ground whales and five species including the humpback are regularly seen in the waters around the Pearl Island development from June through December.
As you approach the island from the sea, it is not possible to see the town clearly. It is covered by coconut palm trees and jungle. The island’s population is at the East side of the island.
The largest beach at the entrance of the town, Puerto Nuevo, there is a shipyard still in use. There is also a church, which is visible from the sea, at the top of a hill. This is one of the oldest churches in the whole American continent still in use.
There is a small restaurant in the town in which they offer Pearl Islands-style food
