San Jose Island is one of the Pearl Islands located in the Pacific Ocean near the continental shelf. It is the second largest island of this group after Isla Del Rey (king Island). It is in the middle of the Gulf of Panama and is 90 kilometers away from Panama City. It takes around 3 hours to get there if you take a boat, and around 20 minutes by plane. Its area is approximately 14,000 acres and it has tropical forests and beaches.
 
The sea surrounding the island might be up to 9,000 ft deep. The area offers an excellent environment for fishing, and as this water is clear, it is appropriate to practice snorkel and scuba diving. There are over 50 beaches in the island, plenty of coral reefs and lush foliage. San Jose island beaches stretch over an area of approximately 3 kilometers.

There are natural caves and natural water springs that may be up to 60 meters high.
